Player Pathway
The British Padel Academy is an invitation-only performance programme.
Our elite Academy squads are reserved for young players who demonstrate the attitude, commitment and long-term potential to thrive in a high-performance environment.
As our Centre of Excellence is based at Beaulieu, we’ve developed a structured junior pathway that begins within the club. Junior sessions are delivered by British Padel Academy coaches and provide young players with the opportunity to build their skills in a fun, supportive environment before progressing further. These sessions are booked directly through Beaulieu.
Our coaching team continually identifies and assesses players throughout the year. As players develop, those who demonstrate exceptional attitude, commitment and potential may be invited to join one of our elite Academy squads.
Not every player’s journey begins in the Academy - but every player’s journey can begin within the British Padel Academy pathway.
Start
1
Join a junior session at our Centre of Excellence in Beaulieu or one of our partner clubs.
Whether your child is completely new to padel or has experience in another racket sport, junior programmes provide the ideal environment to learn, develop and enjoy the game.
Development
2
As players train within the BPA environment, our coaches continually assess their technical ability, athletic potential, attitude and commitment.
There are no one-off selection days. Identification happens naturally over time as players develop.
Invitation
3
Players who consistently demonstrate the qualities required may be invited to join one of our elite Academy squads.
Because Academy places are limited, invitations are offered only when the right opportunity becomes available.
Performance
4
Once invited, players follow an individual performance programme designed to maximise their long-term development.
Junior Trials & Junior Clinics
Alongside our club-based pathway, we offer two additional opportunities for ambitious young players.
Junior Trials
Our Junior Trials are designed to identify players with the potential to join the British Padel Academy. These invitation or application-based sessions allow our coaching team to assess players within a high-performance environment and identify those who may be ready to progress into our elite squads.
As Academy training takes place regularly at our Centre of Excellence in Beaulieu, Junior Trials are most suitable for players who are able to commit to ongoing training if offered an Academy place.
Junior Clinics
Our Junior Clinics are designed for ambitious young players who want to experience high-level coaching with Dan Troy and the British Padel Academy team, regardless of whether they are currently in a position to join the Academy.
These intensive training days provide an opportunity to develop alongside other motivated juniors, experience the BPA coaching philosophy and learn within a challenging, performance-focused environment. They also offer a fantastic opportunity to meet other young players who share the same passion for the sport.
We’re currently developing our Junior Clinic programme, so dates will be released as they become available. If you’d like to hear about future clinics, we encourage you to register your interest.
A Proven Training Environment
The Player Pathway is built on the strong training environment already established at the British Padel Academy.
A large group of British junior players currently train with BPA, competing regularly at national level, with several representing Team GB. These players form the foundation of the pathway as it formally launches, setting the standards for commitment, attitude, and performance.
REGISTER INTEREST
There are a number of ways to begin your journey with the British Padel Academy, depending on your child’s age, experience and ambitions.
For junior club sessions at our Centre of Excellence (Beaulieu), bookings are made directly through Beaulieu. These sessions form the foundation of our player pathway and provide young players with the opportunity to develop within the BPA coaching environment.
